Cavaliers take 4th Place in their first DCUK Season

13/10/2004 - 11:41:22

The Cavaliers took to the field once again on Sunday 3rd October at Mansfield football Club for their final performance of “Winds Of Change” and performed probably one of the best performances you’ve seen yet!!!

The build up to the competition was very exciting I know myself I just wanted to get out there and show what we were made of and I believe we did that!!

Putting out a good, fun show for their finals performance, the corps went out with a goal of enjoying the performance and entertaining the crowd.

We may be a small corp but we definitely know how to blow the crowds away with good music and a controlled sound!!!

Taking 4th place out of 8 was a good result in our first year marching DCUK and we hope the crowds have enjoyed our performances during 2004.

2nd Place achieved at BYBA Finals

05/10/2004 - 19:52:51

It had been a year of new experiences for the Cavaliers. For the first
time in their 15 year history the band had participated in both BYBA and
DCUK competetive leagues. Emerging from 2003 leaner and meaner than ever
before, the year was an exciting prospect for all. And now it was almost
over, finals day had arrived.

The coach journey provided some light entertainment to ease the hype of the
day for a while, and upon arriving everyone was in high spirits. With some
time to kill, the members and staff found ways of keeping occupied until the
moment came to perform.

After the extra rehersals during the week, the members were fighting fit and
ready to perform the show of their lives. Everyone started to change and
prepare their minds. Tension was building, especially for the members who
were about to take part in their first finals performance and even more so
for the staff. But now they were all together, and the time had come...

The Cavaliers took the field for competition. What followed was the result
of a years hard rehersal, and not a minute wasted. By far their finest
performance of the season and for some, the finest performance of their
lives.

Everyone was buzzing afterwards and could hardly wait for the results to be
announced. And when they came, they were certainly not a disappointment.

Although not winning Division 2 (which would have been the cherry on top of
the iced cake), the Cavaliers finished in 2nd place overall and took the
Wind and Colourguard trophies. They were also runners-up in every single
other caption. Truly a result to be proud of. - Lewis Smith aka Contra God
