| 2002 was one of
the band's most succesful seasons yet securing them 2nd Place
in the BYBA premier league and 2nd place at the BYBA National
Championships.
At the 2002 National Championships of the British Youth Band
Association (held at Birmigham's National Indoor Arena) The
Cavaliers once again demonstrated their talents as they achieved
their highest Finals placing as Runners Up in the Premier
division with another stunning performance of their "Riverdance"
show.
The continued hard work by the band cemented their second
place in the League competition for 2002. Their Finals score
was just 10 points behind the class winners. The Cavaliers
returned to Basingstoke with the trophies for General Musical
Effect, Field Wind, Field Commander, Premier Class Runners
Up and Most Entertaing Band. This last award underlines the
popular appeal and musicality of The Cavaliers - a quality
which they are renowned for.
Bandmaster Lee Hendle and his staff are tremendously proud
of what has been achieved this season, demonstrating the band's
continued desire to "Play With Pride" and to exhibit
"The Spirit of Competition" - qualities acknowledged
by congratulatory messages in their GuestBook from many other
bands as well as past BYBA Chairman, Eddie Burridge.
