| Year 2000 was another
busy year for The Cavaliers performing their 2000 show ("West
Side Story") at 7 BYBA competitions and the independent
Kingston Youth Band Contest. The entry at Kingston was especially
pleasing as the judges awarded the band the Winners Shield
for top place in the Showband category.
The Cavaliers entertained the public at various fetes, Thorpe
Park, The Anvil in Basingstoke, and at Wembley Arena. The
2 day appearance at Wembley was as part of the London International
Tattoo where they performed their show and played in the finale
with the Central Band of the White Russian Army, the Band
of the Brigade of Gurkhas, the Band of the United States Air
Forces in Europe and the Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines.
For the sixth consecutive year, the Cavaliers' performance
gained them a place in the BYBA National Championships at
the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham.
And once again, the Cavaliers could be glimpsed on BBC Television,
marching in the Lord Mayor's Show.
