History - 1998

With a new look in headgear and footwear, The Cavaliers took the field with their 1998 show featuring music by Stephen Sondheim and John Williams.

In addition to their BYBA competition season, the band entertained the crowds at Thorpe Park and at Chessington Worlds of Adventure theme parks. The Cavaliers were also selected to compete in the World Association of Marching Show Band's international Championships at the New London Stadium where they received a bronze award.

For a second year they were invited to take part in the Lord Mayor's Show, and their competition performance took them to the BYBA National Championships where they attained 6th place, their highest position to date.
