History - 1993

1993 was a busy year for the Cavaliers and saw the formation of their Training Band for new members and for those existing members who wished to learn another instrument. The band performed live on Meridian TV's "I Can Do That" programme, providing assistance to the Mid-Sussex Youth Band Cadets.

The competition show chosen for their 1993 season was a selection from the musical "Les Misérables". The powerful music combined with the marching routines produced a marvellous treat for all spectators during the year and won the Cavaliers much praise.

The Cavaliers competed in 8 competitions, winning 3 and finishing within the top 5 of the others. Their Field Commander achieved the status of National Champion for the Championship Class; and for the third consecutive year, the Cavaliers were selected for both the BYBA Nationals (Birmingham NIA) and BYBC at Wembley Arena. The band's performance this season gained them promotion to BYBA's Premier Division.
